The Michael Sieff Foundation is dedicated to improving policy and practice for children and
young people in need.
It achieves its objectives by converting wide ranging professional expertise into practical
action through effective multidisciplinary discourse.
The Foundation’s conference programme draws speakers and delegates from government, the
professions, business, academia, the courts, children’s services and the voluntary sector.
Difficult issues are considered fearlessly and openly. Each conference report is widely
distributed and the recommendations are vigorously followed up.
Since it became a charity in 1987, the Foundation has made a significant
contribution to policy and practice. Ideas and practices from Foundation
seminars have been adopted in the sphere of child protection, the
social re-integration of young offenders, combating cross border
paedophile activity and enabling children to give evidence in court.
